RESL – A Unique Federal Resource • Provides independent and impartial oversight and guidance to contractors and site offices through: • DOE Laboratory Accreditation Program (DOELAP) required by 10 835.402 for HSS • Mixed-Analyte Performance Evaluation Program (MAPEP) for HSS • Radiological Measurement Assurance Program (RMAP) for NRC • Radiological Traceability Program (RTP) for NIST • Only federal reference laboratory directly traceable to NIST • Only federal laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC-17025:2005 and ILAC G-13
RESL A-76 Background • A-76 process began in 2006 • NE assumed responsibility of RESL from HSS in Fall of 2006 • No competing bids were submitted • MEO awarded March, 2008 • Created the MEO and Residual Organization (RO) to perform contract oversight • MEO dissolved October 2009 • RESL a Federal resource, open for Scientific collaboration
