  3. Types of Crashes • Crashes involving damage to a vehicle or property • Crashes involving death or personal injuries • Crashes involving unattended vehicles or property VII-3

  4. Responsibility to Stop Penalties for not stopping after incurring a crash include revocation of operator’s license. VII-4

  5. Exchange of Information The bus operator must give his or her name, address, and vehicle registration number, and exhibit license to police officer investigating crash. VII-5

  6. Rendering Basic First Aid Bus operators should not render first aid beyond that for which they have been trained. VII-6

  7. Reporting Accidents Florida Traffic Law requires that crashes be reported to the police. VII-7

  8. Reporting Accidents(continued) The Florida Department of Education requires that all crashes involving personal injury or property damage, no matter how small, be reported to the operator's supervisor. VII-8

  9. Florida Traffic Law Regarding Unattended Vehicles or Fixed Object Crashes Section 316.063(1), F.S. The driver must immediately stop and notify duly authorized police. If a damaged vehicle is obstructing traffic, the driver should make every reasonable effort to move the vehicle or have it moved. VII-9
