This saves power drain on the batteries. Performing a Soft Reset Changing iPAQ Settings -PDA Features • NOTE: • If the device fails to function normally in any way, just perform a soft reset. • This can clear up most problems when running the Job Aid. • A soft reset will not erase any information on the device. • PRESS THE RESET BUTTON IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DEVICE WITH THE STYLUS. -Using the Power Button -Setting the Time/Date -Changing Keyboard Size -Program Front Button -Adjusting the Backlight -Checking Battery Power -Aligning the Screen -Perform a Soft Reset -Perform a Hard Reset Go to next topic How to Perform a Hard Reset
Performing a Hard Reset Changing iPAQ Settings -PDA Features • WARNING: • THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF THE INFORMATION ON THE PDA… • 1 - While depressing Application Buttons 1 and 4. • At the same time, use the stylus to push the Reset Button • Hold all until the screen image fades away. • Release the buttons and stylus. • To verify a full reset, press the Power Button. If the PDA has been fully reset, it will not power on until the battery has been reactivated • 2 – Reactivate the battery by: • Connecting the PDA to AC power, or… • Pressing the reset button with the stylus. (See performing a Soft Reset) -Using the Power Button -Setting the Time/Date -Changing Keyboard Size -Program Front Button -Adjusting the Backlight -Checking Battery Power -Aligning the Screen -Perform a Soft Reset -Perform a Hard Reset FINISHED Go back to the Beginning Screen
