TimelineThen • Established in 1977 from a grant written by Ms. Abigail Hahn, Administrator/Executive Assistant of the Natchitoches Area Action Association, Inc. • Official name: Natchitoches Outpatient Medical Center, Inc. • Begin providing services on Bossier Street, Natchitoches, LA, under the direction of Mr. Ted Hernandez. Provided only medical care and operated on a sliding fee scale along with Medicaid/Medicare. • In the 1980’s OMC contructed a new building at 1640 Breazeale Springs street and relocated from the Bossier Street location. • At the building of the new location the services of the Dental Department, WIC/Nutritional Services and Transportation were added. • On November 18, 1997 Natchitoches Outpatient Medical Center, Inc became self-sufficient and changed the name to Outpatient Medical Center, Inc. • In 2008, the Natchitoches Health Center building was expanded to help provide more patient services. Timeline continued……Now • Today Outpatient Medical Center, Inc. serves the entire community in need of accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare. • Currently employs over 80 employees and providers • Outpatient Medical Center now serves the populations of Natchitoches, Leesville, and Tallulah, and is dedicated to fulfill all healthcare needs. • Annual budget of nearly $6 Million • Providing over 15,000 patient encounters per year • Expanded Dental and Behavioral Health services to cover all three populations Outpatient Medical Center, Inc.
