  2. Katie Taylor Katie Taylor was born in Bray Co.Wicklow. She is 26 years old. She won a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics. She is the first woman in Ireland to win a gold medal in the olympics. Her favourite psalm is psalm 18 “The Lord is my Rock”.

  3. Proffessor Ernest Walton ProffessorErnest Walton was the first person to split the atom with the help of John Cockcroft. Proffessor Walton was born in Dungarvan, Co.Waterford, Ireland. This is the town we live in. Proffessor Walton was awarded with the nobel prize of physics in 1951. There is a park in honour of him located inDungarvan. He died on the 25th of June 1995,aged 91

  4. U2 U2 formed in 1976. They have won 20 grammy awards. In the year 2000 U2’s Bono tried to get other countries out of debt. The members of the band are Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton. U2 are a rock band from Dublin Ireland.

  5. John F. Kennedy John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States of America. John F. Kennedy’s Irish roots trace all the way back to the rural village of Bruff in Co.Limerick for the Fitzgerald family and back to Dunganstown Co.Wexford for the Kennedy family. John F. Kennedy visited Ireland onJune 26th-29th1963. He visitedhis ancestral home in Co.Wexford. He was born on May 29 1917 in Brookline Massachusetts. He died November 22nd 1963 Dallas Texas. He was assassinated. Kennedy Park in Co.Wexford is dedicated to the memory of JFK, president of the United States of America 1960-1963.

  7. James Joyce James Augusta Aloysius Joyce was born on the 2nd of February 1882 to John Stanislous Joyce and Mary Jane “May” Murray in the Dublin suburb of Rathgon. James Joyce was an Irish novelist and poet. He was one of the best writers in the early 20th century. James Joyce was famous for some poems such as: A flower given to my Daughter, A prayer, Alone, Be not sad, Flood and many more.
