Passing Score • Standard Score of 75 The National Board examinations are criterion-referenced; candidates are not graded on a curve or comparison to others but against a pre-determined standard.
Policy Changes and Dates of Implementation: • Effective January 1, 2010, candidates who pass any National Board examination (Part I, Part II, or Dental Hygiene) are not allowed to retest unless required by a State Board. • The implementation of a Pass/Fail scoring system for National Board examinations (Part I, Part II and Dental Hygiene) will take effect on January 1, 2012.
UIC Policy (Specific dates for the Class of 2013) • January 7th 2011 – the date by which we had to make the first attempt to pass NBDE Part I • May 13th 2011- the date by which the Office of Academic Affairs has to obtain a copy of the report verifying that a student have received a PASS on NBDE Part I • Must Pass to participate in clinic activities.

Scheduling the test • http://www.prometric.com/ADA/default.htm • Schedule 60-90 days prior to the desired testing date. • Rescheduling or canceling testing appointment must be done 2 business days in advance (before noon ET) • Rescheduling fee applies
Day of the test • Report to the prometric center 30 min before scheduled appointment • Bring 2 IDs • The name on your IDs must match exactly with the name on your NBDE Part I application.
Test Results • Delivered to you by mail in 3-4 weeks • If you want to report scores to additional schools or programs or want an additional report for yourself, the fee is $25 for each additional score report. Please do not request additional score reports if you tested less than four weeks ago. • Many of our classmates were receiving their scores within 10 business days of the test. • Bring the official score report to Lea Alexander, Director of Academic Affairs and Registrar, Room 202D
