Transcripts and Record Reviews • Check address • Check social security # • Cover Record Review form – pay close attention to deficiencies, credits, OGT’s • Fill in ACT info – if scheduled, score, etc. • Fill in post-graduate plans, major, etc. • Sign Record Review form • Keep transcript & turn in Record Review
Transcript Release Form&Activity Record These should be turned in and on file already!
Senior Year • Fall – college visits & college applications mailed by Christmas • Winter – financial aid – FAFSA – completed by March 1st (check the college deadline) • Spring – compare college & financial aid packages to select your school
College Rep Procedures • An announcement will be made when a college rep will be here to meet with students • Check listing on Guidance bulletin board • Get your planner signed as your pass
College Visit Procedures • Every student is entitled to 2 excused college visit days - & a third with prior approval • Parent needs to call you off that morning – saying that you are going on a college visit • You must get your College Visit Form signed at the college
College Visitation Days • University of Akron – • October 20 or November 3 – all majors • Days for specific majors • www.uakron.edu/admissions • Kent State University – • Open Houses • Days for specific majors • www.admissions.kent.edu • Go to websites if interested in other college visitation days or open houses.
College Applications • We have many college applications on file in the Guidance Office in the big black filing cabinet & on the book shelves when you walk in!!! • If we do not have an application for the school you want, you are responsible to contact the university for the application.
Online College Applications • Some colleges will not charge an application fee if you apply online • Signature page – this will be at the end of your online application – be sure to print this out and bring to Guidance
Application Deadlines • Pay close attention to the deadlines for the particular schools you are interested in! • Regular application deadline • Honors Program deadline • Scholarship Application deadline • Goal: All college applications in before Christmas Break!!!
