O210.2A DOE Corporate Operating Experience Program The OpEx Order presumes we will follow the ISMS model for feedback and improvement: The Order specifies that each organization will include an assessment of its operating experience program as part of the ISMS self assessment The Order specifies that oversight and performance trending will follow requirements in O226.1 Implementation of Department of Energy Oversight Policy These responsibilities are stated at the program office, field element and contractor levels In addition, HSS performs annual self-assessment reviews on the effectiveness of the OE Program to guide ongoing program improvement.
Program Perspective The programs will need to answer several questions: What did the sites and contractors learn in their self assessments? What other input should be considered? Are cross cutting issues addressed? What can be improved? Approach: Use existing data Avoid make-work data calls Learn from the people on the front line Identify metrics Strive for value added
