Text: Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. Rom. 1:22A. THE “WISE” WHO WELCOMED JESUS AS KING INTO JERUSALEM. Matt. 21:1-11 1. The Two Disciples were wise – they Obeyed Jesus, and did as Jesus commanded them. Mt. 21:1, 2 a. Jesus Instructed them: Mt. 21:2 • Go into the village…ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto Me.

It was according to the Inspired Word of God: Mt. 21:4, 5 For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us (I Cor. 5:7) • All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. The “Pals” (disciples) of Jesus Comprehended not these things and forsook Him:Jn. 12:16; Mt. 26:56 • These things understood not His disciples at the first…all the disciples forsook Him, and fled. 2. The Pilgrims in the City knew Him not:all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? Mt. 21:10, 11 • And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

TWO FOOLS WHO BECAME WISE AFTER KING JESUS’ RESURRECTION: Lk .24:13, 25, 26And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem…Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:Ought not Christ to have sufferedthese things, and to enter into His glory? • What have the prophets spoken? Phil. 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Conclusion:How the Two “Fools” became Wise:And it came to pass, as He (Jesus) sat at meat with them, He took bread, and blessedit, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him.
