Facility Needs The first paragraph of G.S. 115c-521 requires Local Boards of Education to submit their long-range plans for meeting school facility needs to the State Board of Education every five years. The last plan was submitted in 2010-11. The survey considers: • Capacities and Enrollment Projections for each School • Condition of Existing Facilities • Educational Adequacy of Existing Facilities

The New Hanover County Board of Education, based on the needs presented, is requesting the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners to approve a school bond referendum to be included on the November 2014 ballot.
