  2. Local contextTo develop our workforceTo build the resilience of mainstream schools to meet increasing complexity of need.To ensure we have fair share across our schools.Every school is a school for children with SEND. Every teacher is a teacher of SEND.

National vision Our vision for children and young people in school with SEND is the same as for other pupils: that they achieve well, are included fully in their school communities, and are well prepared for the transition to an adulthood in which they lead happy and fulfilled lives. We know that classroom teachers are at the heart of schools’ response to meeting individual needs: excellent teaching is the key.

Our approach to reviewing SEND practice • Adoption of WHOLE SCHOOL SEND self evaluation tool. • Production of SEND data scorecards for each school in Telford. • Local support via visits from SEND experts to moderate responses and help action plan next steps. • Future consideration – SEND Quality Mark

  9. Schools can complete the self review independently.Its important that senior management are involved in the self review, including governors.We have developed local best practice guidance. This is not complete it is an evolving document

How to get your self evaluation reviewed…….Send in expressions of interest stating you want a ‘SEND self review’ tosue.stoddart2@taw.org.ukat Severn Teaching School.Please be mindful that visits will take place over the coming year in relation to capacity.The SEND reviewers in Telford will be a mix of LA and STSA professionals who will be trained to conduct a Whole School SEND review.
