  10. Reasons for missing • All absences must be excused; however, an excused absence does not necessarily mean you will be running in the next meet. • An unexcused missed practice, will result in athlete not competing at the next meet. • This includes leaving early to go to an outside practice

  11. Relay Teams • Anyone on a relay team must be at practice the day before a meet in order to participate on the relay team. • There are no excused absences for this!

  12. Tardies • If late for any reason you must do a 25 burpees; in the presence of a coach before boarding the bus or starting practice. • 2 Tardies = 1 Absence • 5 unexcused absences mean dismissal from the team!

  13. Practice/Meet Gear • Every track team member must wear proper workout attire to practice. • There will be Roosevelt T&F shirts for sale if you want one. • Please wear shorts, compressions or tights to practice

  14. Practice/Meet Gear • Always bring track shoes and flat running shoes to all practices and meets. • If you come to practice in any other apparel, you will not be allowed to practice. This will be looked at as an unexcused absence. • Jewelry, undergarments showing, etc. is not allowed.

  15. Practice/Meet Gear • Do not bring iPods to practice. • At meets you will wear our uniform and sweats. • If you do not obtain team sweats through fundraising efforts, you will be allowed to wear plain black, blue or gray sweats only, with no logos from other teams or sports. Dress any other way and you will not be allowed on the bus, or run in the meet.

  16. Transportation • Each athlete will be required to ride the bus to and from each meet, where there is a bus provided. • Athletes who follow proper school protocol thru the athletic director’s office will be released to their parents after the meet. • A coaching staff member must meet with each athlete’s parents before he will release them. No athlete will be allowed to go home with a parent or anyone else without proper documentation. • Failure to follow this rule will result in immediate suspension from this team!

  17. Bad Weather • Never guess the weather; assume practice or meet will be held.  Always have running gear at school.  Listen for announcement at 2:41 on the PA

  19. Parental Attendance at Practice • No parents are allowed along the gate or on the track/field during practice time. This time is valuable and we do not need distractions. • You may sit in the bleachers but should not be coaching from the stands • This is not allowed during practice in any another sport on campus • Parent will be warned. Any further incidents and the parent will be asked to leave the field.
