  2. How did the earliest people get to NC? • Migrated-moved across North America to settle in NC • Followed bison and mammoths

  3. Nomads • A person who keeps moving from place to place • Traveled in groups • Ate nuts, berries and plants, mostly • Fished and hunted

  4. Atlatl ( AHT*lah*tuhl) • A tool that hunters used for throwing spears farther. • A stone weight steadied the atlatl and allowed the hunter to put more force into launching the spear.
