A Recipe For Leadership • During the Middle Ages, there were 4 basic forms of political organizations: • The Roman Catholic Church • Monarchies-rule by Kings & Queens in places like Spain, England, France • Holy Roman Empire, a loose confederation of some 300 states of people of different sizes, languages, cultures, loyalties • City-States located mostly on the Italian peninsula & Central Europe- examples Venice, Florence,Naples
