EVENT PARAMETERS Elastic Cord • More than one material • More than one strand • Attached closed metal ring • ½ - 1 inch diameter • Will not open • Must meet elasticity test
ELASTICITY TEST While suspended vertically • Bottom meter of the cord • Stretch to at least 1.25 meters with 500 gram mass attached • Return to original length (approximately)
DROP MASS • 50 – 300 grams • Regional – 25 gram multiples • State – 10 gram multiples • National – 1 gram multiples
DROP HEIGHT • Regional and State • 2 – 5 meters • Same or different heights • National • 5 – 10 meters • Different heights

COMPETITION • Elastic cords impounded before posting of mass and height(s) • No physical alterations to elastic cord (except for marking drop locations) after impound
COMPETITION DROPS • 2 drops • Same mass each time • Height • Regional – same or different • National - different
TIME LIMITS • 5 minutes to prepare device in holding area • 5 minutes to complete both drops

TIE-BREAKER • 1ST – Single best overall drop • Closest to landing surface • Either drop • 2nd – Cord with greatest stretch in elasticity test
APPEALS • No appeals after device has left impound area
