Interpretive Interpersonal Presentational There are three parts…
Students listen to or read an authentic text and answer interpretive questions to assess comprehension. In other words… Read or Listen to something from the real world and answer question to see if you understand. Part 1: Interpretive Task
Students engage in a oral communication about a topic that relates to the unit. In other words… You and a partner talk in Spanish as the teacher listens and evaluates you on a rubric Part 2: Interpersonal Task
Students engage in a presentation for the class by sharing research/ideas/opinions in Spanish. Part 3: Presentational Task
Interpretive You have been chosen for a full scholarship to study abroad in Mexico! In order to understand about the program that you are applying for, you look for information about a few of the study abroad schools in Mexico that you would hope to attend. Your teacher gives you the following text about school schedules. Read the text carefully and complete the questions that accompany it. Interpersonal As part of the application process, you will be interviewed by the director of the program. In order to prepare for the interview, you have asked your Spanish classmates for help. Conduct a mock interview and talk about yourself, your class schedule, your favorite and least favorite class, your friends, your teachers, the materials needed for each class, and extracurricular activities. Presentational Present the information to the class in order to try to convince one of your classmates to apply to the program. Share what you have learned about school life in Mexico, including school schedules, supplies, extracurricular activities and people. 7th Grade Task Overview
Interpretive You have won a free trip to any Spanish-speaking country in the world through the local Hispanic radio station! In order to decide which country you would like to visit, one aspect of the trip you have to find more information about is the type of food that is common in the country. Compare two menus from 2 countries. Read the menus carefully and complete the comprehension questions that accompany it. Interpersonal Your aunt has just returned from a trip to Madrid, Spain and she is trying to convince you to choose Spain as your country of choice. Ask your aunt about the places in Madrid including where various landmarks are located and what they look like in real life. (Use the map of Madrid, Spain to pinpoint accuracy in prepositional phrases.) Presentational You have decided on the country, you have done your research, and now it’s time to convince your parents! Present the information to your family to take the trip with you! Present the information to your family in the form of a 3-day itinerary. This itinerary can be in the format of your choice. Don’t forget to include a few delicious, common dishes that you plan to enjoy and will help to convince your family to go there. 8th Grade Task Overview

The INTERPRETIVE task will happen tomorrow in class. You may NOT use your notes during the task. You SHOULD review your notes (Unit Topics) for homework. When and How?
We will spend one class period preparing for the INTERPERSONAL TASK. We will spend one to two days in class on assessing the task. When you participate in the task, you may NOT use your notes. Don’t worry…we have done a speaking activity like this before in class. You did well When and How?
We will work on the PRESENTATIONAL task for three to five days in class. We will have laptops for research and preparation. You get to choose the format of your presentation. Here’s your chance to shine! You should realllllllly prepare well because you may NOT use notes during the presentation. So practice, practice, practice!!! Presentations will begin... When and How?
