The cigarettes my grandpa smoked caused my grandma to die of lung cancer.(Jewish) Communication My mom has cancer and though it’s not terminal the chemo takes a lot out of her and sometimes she seems more dead than alive.   10. The silence is the tragedy- we see what happen to the syrian peoples and the world don’t say a word. As humans we must not sit quite and watch CUZ WE R HUMANS!!! (Muslim) There is much more ways to eng a fight! Eliminating your enemy is not a solution  (Muslim) I hate war…I dream about peace in the entire world!!! (Jewish)

  11. This hate we feel for people we don’t know, based on stories we grow up listening to. I wanna stop this- the hate is just hurting us ♥ (Jewish) I want people to actually listen to each other and make a discussion on important issues. I think it will stop a lot of the hate that people have for each other and maybe even solve the Middle East problem (Muslim) I bet it’s really scary…I know it was really scary when we had earthquakes (Christian)

Students ‘hungry’ to write • the blogs (Kajder, 2004). • Students reacted more to the blogs under times of stress • Students responded more to the blogs that their own teacher/friends posted. • Short titles were more successful. • Blogs that suggested some sense of urgency got quicker and more reactions.

  13. 6) Controversial topics= • ‘in depth’ responses. • 7) Speaking place for the quieter students. (participation classroom setting). • 8) Blog topics catering for a wide audience created larger responses. • 9) Directives created more responses than the traditional, ‘What do you think?’ question forms.
