PACS : AOT & Simulator & Pipeline Testing(Rodighiero) • Testing of AOTs, Instrument Simulator and DP pipeline continued through: • Detailing CPU & RAM requirements for running Simulator & Pipeline • Debugging & Updating of Simulator and Pipeline scripts for various AOTs • Assessing impact of various (Extra)Galactic components of simulated skies • Optimizing observations to be carried out in GT and OT KPs • Identifying issues with data products formats used by Simulator & Pipeline • This will provide much-needed End-To-End validation of the PACS Simulator & Pipeline chain for various AOTs before software public release • Experience acquired through such testing will prove invaluable for consortium during Performance Verification and GT & OT teams during Science Operations • During Science Operations, GR is expected to contribute to the execution of PEP (PACS KT KP) and exploit its synergies with HERMES (SPIRE GT KP), in particular as far as “parallel” PACS & SPIRE observations are concerned Padova ICC Contribution
SPIRE : DP Development & Testing(Mainetti & Vaccari) • “Visualization Tools” WP Leadership : developing and maintaining requirements and software for interactive visualization and manipulation of bolometer timelines through the Detector Timeline Explorer (DTE) • Pipeline Software Integration, Testing & Debugging : dealing with SxRs through ESA on-line reporting system as well as dedicated telecons and meetings, support for integration at SPIRE Data Centres and End-To-End tests at ESA sites • During Science Operations, GM & MV are expected to contribute to the execution of HERMES (SPIRE GT KP), in particular as far as the maintenance and improvement of the pipeline and Interactive Analysis software is concerned Screenshot of SPIRE pipeline execution taken during pipeline integration tests Padova ICC Contribution
SPIRE : Detector Timeline Explorer(Mainetti & Vaccari) Greatly improved data & metadata visualization features DTE was first Instrument-Supplied Software Component to be made compatible with new HCSS HIPE GUI environment : great debugging and testing value for HIPE at large • DTE development and integration within Herschel & SPIRE software continued at sustained pace • DTE can now be launched and extensively manipulated from graphical menu as well as from command line Padova ICC Contribution
SPIRE : DP CCB & UG Activities(Vaccari) MV represents SPIRE within the Herschel Data Processing (DP) Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Users Group (UG) and chairs the SPIRE DP UG Assembling and coordinating DP feedback from SPIRE consortium members Participating into DP CCB telecons and DP UG meetings Supervising (Mentoring) DP development related to a number of WPs • Particular responsibility for the development of HCSS GUIs and Image Analysis Software and for parts of the documentation • Reporting to the ICC about DP development issues and seeking consortium feedback Padova ICC Contribution
