Information Needed • By January 11 • Office hours • At least 8 hours per week • Post on your door • eMail me • Syllabi • 1 per course • eMail me • Hardcopy to Jeanette • Prerequisite forms • One from each student • Keep in your office • CV (if none provided during Fall) • MS Word file; email as attachment to me • Follow format provided at CIT website • ProfAct reports (February 1; both hardcopy & email) • Goal statements (April 1; hardcopy)

  4. Department of Accounting & Information Technology • Administration • Chair: Professor Tina Quinn, PhD • CIT Coordinator: To be determined • Effective January 1, 2008 • But wait . . .

  5. The AIT Department • As of this week, everything is on hold! • Waiting for approval from Dr. Dan • All those international students might want a MSISeC • So, we’re currently in a “holding pattern” • Nevertheless, let’s discuss some of the issues facing a combined department

  6. AIT Issues: A CIT Coordinator • Whom do we want to recommend? • What responsibilities are involved? • Advising: default advisor; transfer students; MSISeC • Degree plan and curriculum direction and oversight • Developing/delegating promotional materials • Evaluating transfer work, computer proficiency, etc. • Coordinating promotional activities • Software acquisition/maintenance (e.g., MSDN, SAS, Oracle, . . . ) • That means that the AIT chair will • Evaluate faculty • Handle student complaints, etc. • Address overrides, class cancelations, . . . • Deal with financial issues (e.g., travel requests)

  7. AIT Issues: Other Stuff • Physical property • “Library” (textbooks, journals, reference material, . . . ) • Files • Computer junk • Note: we’ll no longer have a conference room • For much of what we have we can just discard it • PRT and curriculum committee representation • Other things . . . ?

Curriculum • Report from our CoB committee representative (Russ) • Future of the MS program • From previous meeting • Current NEA students aren’t sufficient • Need to develop plan for alternate means of GA support • New opportunity • International students • Revised prerequisites needed • Dual track approach (Business/Technology)? • We each need to review the 2007/08 catalog to see what problems, corrections, changes need to be addressed
