  1. Introduction • Many people, while initiating the weight loss, start with dieting and starving to lose weight. It’s a standard consideration that eating less and exercising more is the key to lose weight. • However, there is another side of starving we have covered in this presentation. 2

Physiological Consequences of Starving • When you starve, the fat stored in your body will be used to fulfill the minimum requirement of the body. • Thus, the energy level will drop significantly. • Initially, you will lose weight but you will lose the muscle weight. • Starving also slows down your metabolism. 3

What Happens When you Starve? • Metabolism will Slow Down Since you are starving the body starts consuming energy from stored fat as per the natural protective mechanism and it will slow down gradually. • Severe Hunger Will Pile Up Later Starving is a tough task, you may end up consuming more food in an uncontrolled manner. 4
