  2. The Italian Educational System

  3. Nursery School There is a first approach to: • English • Road education • Environmental education • Health education There is a real highlight on the concept of learning through the game and using alternative no verbal languages

  4. Primary School Elementary School • It lasts five years • There are three or more teachers for each “form” (Two classes) • Each teacher teaches on specific area (expressive logic-mathematic, historico-geographic, religion etc.) Pupils get the elementary school leaving certificate it allows them to open the way to the middle school.

  5. The Middle school • It lasts three years • A teacher for each subject • At the end of the 3rd year they have to pass an exam They obtain a diploma of Scuola Media and so the right to continue their education.

  6. Secondary School • It is attended from 13-14 to 18-19 • There are different secondary schools: Licei, Tecnici, Professionali according the subjects taught At the end they have to pass a State Exam with a mixed commission ( the teachers of the class and that from other schools) The final mark is the sum of credits acquired and of the result of the tests)

  7. Secondary School All These diplomas allow to enrol at University or Superior Technical Education (IFTS)

  8. It offers a double choice • A first level degree (3 years) • A specialistic degree.(3+2 years) • Some Universities require a matriculation exam University
