Passive Solar • Oldest form of solar used by man. • The buildings shape can be made to: Warm the home in winter, promote cooling drafts in summer, let light inside during winter and keep it out in the summer, store heat of the day in winter for the night.
Passive Solar • Large south facing porches • Keeps sun out of windows in summer, even with the windows open, lets in the sun during the winter. • The use of white also reflects heat away during hot summers.
