Air Pollution • How Can I Help? • Walk instead of ride! • Check that aerosol products in your home are ozone friendly. • Air pollution is adding harmful substances to the air. Air pollution can cause depletion of the ozone layer and acid rain. • Some causes of air pollution are car exhaust, smoke from factories, and aerosol spray cans.
Land Pollution • Land pollution includes littering and adding chemicals to the soil. • By removing trees, erosion increases, another form of land pollution. • How Can I Help? • Throw trash away and pick-up any trash you find! • Plant trees and plants that beautify and help end erosion.
Water Pollution • Water pollution includes littering on lakes, chemical run-off from factories, and oil that is sometimes left by boats and oil spills. • How Can I Help? • Don’t Litter! • Don’t pour items like oil that should be recycled into lakes, streams, or ponds.
Noise Pollution • Noise pollution is created from loud and unwanted sounds. • Noise pollution can be made from jets, heavy traffic, and even loud music! • How Can I Help? • Turn down your music in your house and in your car! • Wear protective gear when around loud machinery.
