4 Steps to Certification • Attain the required work experience – 2 years in driver training • Attend the Essential Instructional Skills for Professional Driver Trainers course • Pass CDT certification exam • Complete online certification submission
How it Works • Structure allows certification process to be completed within 60-day timeframe • One, all-inclusive flat fee covers all aspects of certification process: required training, certification exam and online submission,and NATMI membership
Process Overview Training requirements and certification exam completed on-site in 2.5-day program Certification application and exhibit submitted within 60 days of on-site training
Renewal • In order to stay current, certified individuals must renew every 3 years from the date of their initial certification • Renewal applicants must accumulate 30 points in the 3-year cycle. • A online form documenting points earned must be submitted to NATMI prior to the renewal due date
