The FP7 Space Programme aims to strengthen space foundations and develop downstream services, with a total budget of 50,521 billion Euros from 2007-2013. The programme focuses on space-based applications, particularly the development of Kopernikus services, and aims to stimulate the development of next-generation service lines. Collaborative projects and coordination and support actions are eligible for funding.

Kopernikus and Africa, guidelines for CSAs (2): • Exchange of know-how and requirements between Africa and Europe • Focus on the deployment of services, while considering the underlying infrastructure and expertise that will be needed to access and operate those services (capacity building) • Thematic areas: monitoring of Natural resources, natural hazards, water management, desertification and preparing for climate change, prevention of conflicts, food security, monitoring of marine and coastal waters.
