  2. Erwin Chargaff was a biochemistries who in investigation the composition of DNA. • This lead to the correct clarification of its molecular structure. • He accomplished this by isolating DNA from different organisms and measuring there nitrogenous bases.

  3. His results are know today as Chargaff’s laws which state: • that the number of adenine (A) will equal the number of thymine (T) • the number of guanine (G) will equal the number of cytosine (C) • the number of purines (A+G) always equals the number of pyrimidines(T+C)
