  3. The Urban Strategies Council • Community-building, support and advocacy organization • Our mission is to eliminate persistent poverty by working with partners to transform low-income neighborhoods into vibrant, healthy communities

  4. OPD Partnership History • Began July 2008: focus on data for community policing and beat level trends to support NCPC work • Supported by Councilmember Brooks and initiated with cooperation of Captain Rachal • Refined in July 2009 to focus on hot spot analysis of Burglary and Robbery with Captain Figueroa • In 2010 with Captain Joyner developed wider range of tools and analysis for Area 3 • Mid 2010: Chief Batts asked us to demonstrate capacity to expand analysis to entire City and to focus on hot spot policing support
