Objects of the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Act of 2002 • Promote employment and advance the social and economic welfare of all South Africans • Contribute to the transformation of the mining industry ( 26%BEE, 10% women in mining and 40% HDSA’s in management) • Ensure that holders of mining rights contribute towards socio-economic development and poverty of the areas in which they are operating and labour sending area
