  2. The inner turmoil and guilt a person holds after committing a sin or crime is worse than any official punishment given.

  3. It is necessary to publicize a person’s crime and punishment in order to warn others and deter crime in society.

  4. We should worry less about punishing a criminal and more about forgiving and rehabilitating him.

  5. Because our government is not based on any one religion, laws and punishment should instead be based on public opinion of what is acceptable/unacceptable.

  6. To be true to oneself, one must follow his heart at all times, even if society or peers disagree or don’t understand.

  7. A person’s essential character does not change; once a (cheater/liar/thief/murderer), always a (cheater/liar/thief/murderer).

  8. It is impossible for society to be truly fair and equal. It is human nature to look down upon/deride/”scapegoat” some element of the community.
