Timeline • February-May • Complete MSPE Questionnaire • Submit Unique Characteristics Exercise • Attend CV/PS workshops • Apply for Away Rotations • Begin Requesting Letters of Rec • May-June • MSPE Meetings with Drs. Parker and Calmes • CV should be 90% finalized • July • ERAS Application opens
Note: Only include information you wish to include in your MSPE!
Step 3: Meet with Dr. Parker or Dr. Calmes • Meetings occur during the summer and are generally in alphabetical order • All MSPEs are released November 1st (even early Match applicants)
Step 4: Edit and Sign Off on MSPE • Editing occurs in September and October • Done in the SAO
What edits does the SAO make to MSPE? • Correction of name: You will be referred to by your given first name throughout the MSPE • Gender: Pronouns will be changed to reflect your gender • Spelling and punctuation: All spelling will be corrected, but the nature of composite evaluations is that punctuation may not be 100% accurate. Sentence fragments may be left in. • Redundant comments may be removed
Evaluations • Revisions must go through Clerkship Director and be submitted to SAO by October 15th to be included in MSPE • See SAO for advice and details on how to approach
What do I edit on the MSPE? • “Unique Characteristics” Section • Errors, omissions, and chronology • Reference to specialty choice (this is up to you whether or not you want your specialty included in the MSPE) • Personal information you do not want included in your application • “Summary” Section • Errors, omissions, and chronology • Reference to specialty choice (this is up to you whether or not you want your specialty included in the MSPE) • Ensure LOD’s and AOA are included if applicable

Google Yourself Do web and image searches on your name frequently throughout the next year All content that is google-able should be professional including photos Whenever possible, take steps to remove unprofessional content from websites Set Google Alert so you are notified if new content appears
