Tantalus. By: Tara McMahon. Tantalus was a Greek King and he thought he could trick the Gods into letting him dine on Ambrosia and Nectar and steal some of it. . But, Tantalus did something MUCH worse. He invited the Gods to his home to eat.

  1. Tantalus By: Tara McMahon

  2. Tantalus was a Greek King and he thought he could trick the Gods into letting him dine on Ambrosia and Nectar and steal some of it.

  3. But, Tantalus did something MUCH worse. He invited the Gods to his home to eat.

  4. He began to cook stew when he CHOPPED his children into it and FED to the Gods!

  5. Because he did this the gods found out and Zeus himself punished him, he killed Tantalus and banished him to the underworld.

  6. When he arrived in the underworld he was placed just below a tree that bears the juiciest of fruit and was neck deep in ice cold water.

  7. Only, he could not reach the fruit because it would swivel and shake and move out of reach, and the water would drain away from him, finally he was already dead so no matter how hungry or thirsty he was he would never die.
