  3. Where You Should Be: • You should have listened to sessions #1-4. • You should be finishing one of two books by Jan. 20th. • You should have planned two personal evangelism training opportunities for your congregation for 2011. • You should have discussed with your partner one immediate and one long-term application to helping your congregation become more externally focused.

  4. Where You Should Be: 5. You should be planning an evangelistic event for 2011 for which you will apply all steps of preparation. 6. You should be planning to attend the Evangelism Conference coming up on Feb. 28-Mar. 1 in Conyers. 7. You should be meeting regularly with your prayer/accountability partner.

  5. Tonight • Guest Friendly • Follow-up • Assimilation • What does this have to do with evangelism? • Though we cannot save someone, we can inadvertently develop barriers to reception of the Gospel message. • Evangelism does not end at the point of conversion but launches into responsibility for Discipleship.

  6. Guest Friendly • Distinguish between being “seeker driven” and being “seeker sensitive.” • James 2:1-13. • Evaluate facilities by asking how clean, how cluttered, and how contemporary? • Friendliness is both taught and caught but is never automatic. • Combine welcome by design with developing a welcoming culture. • Consider inviting an anonymous guest.

  7. Follow-Up • Begin when guests are on-site by registration and invitation. • Automate follow-up giving attention to: • timing • and multiple touches.

  8. Assimilation Top Three Tools: • Sunday School (Small Group) Connection • New Member Class • Relationships (Moving from friendliness to friendships)

  9. Conversation with Larry Wynn, Pastor of Hebron Baptist Church.

  10. Conversation with Thomas Hammond, Evangelism Team of NAMB.
