Continued • Perception of Audience: • You shouldn’t be nervous of you audience, just be calm an speak. (they react to how you move/speak) • The audience will forgive and ignore any type of mistake/awkwardness if your engaged with them • IT’S JUST SHARING INFO, NOT A HUGE PERFORMANCE
continued • Perception of Speech: • A speech shouldn’t be a big thing, but instead look at it as sharing info. to your friends/peers • It’s purpose is to guide, not e judged as a performance • Be calm about it, don’t make it a forced speech • IT’S JUST SHARING INFO, NOT A HUGE PERFORMANCE
continued • Perception of Yourself: • Due to the media and their creation of “beautiful people” people find it difficult to accept themselves • This makes it easy to give in and doubt ourselves which leads to a lot of problems, especially in speech • Don’t take a little mistake a long way (failure leads to success) • Self esteem = confidence, which is built, not born with

Continued • Friendliness: • Set the tone of the room as a warm and comforting area • Notes: • Write down your ideas in brief • Do not have too much info on your cards or too many note cards
Continued • Dedication: • Practice, Practice, Practice • You can never have enough practice • Impression: • A good start is key to building confidence • How your audience sees you from the beginning is very important
continued • Newness: • Apply something with originality • Always have something new • Empathy: • Know how it feels to feel that way • You shouldn’t assume that you are the only one that feels that way
Continued • Enthusiasm: • Get fired up • Get pumped • Conviction: • Believe in what you say
