Main Activities in Phase II • Establishment of institutional and legal framework: first quarter of 2004 • Training of DNA staff and the private sector participants (project developers, financial sector, academia and research institutions, NGOs) • Regional and national workshops: training, reviewing, planning, implementing, sharing • Identification of potential projects: 2004, 2005 • Creating a pipeline: second half of 2005

Development in Latin America • Coordinator: Jørgen Fenhann • Phase I: completed • DNA: Bolivia, Ecuador (not notify UNFCCC) • Ratification of the KP: Ecuador, Bolivia, Guatemala • Regional workshops: one regional and one extended regional workshop in Sep. 2003 focusing on sustainability • National workshops: no fixed yet

Development in ME & NA • Coordinator: Sami Kamel • Phase I; Jordan is completing Phase I, Egypt & Morocco already started Phase II. • DNA: Egypt & Morocco, Jordan issued a decree but not notified UNFCCC yet • Ratification of the KP: Morocco ratified, Jordan accepted, Egypt signed. • Regional workshops: one regional workshop in Tunisia, Dec. 2003 focusing on legal issues • National workshops • Jordan: regulatory and legal issue, 18 – 19 Jan. 2004 • Egypt: regulatory and legal issues, 12 – 13 Jan. 2004 • Morocco: workshop on baseline, 26 – 27 Jan 2004 • workshop on finance and banking, Feb. 2004 • workshop on DNA and public sector staff, Mar. 2004
