Session Learning Objectives • By the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Locate an electronic audio book and add it to their “bookshelf” • Download and listen to an audio book on their computer • Address frequently asked questions their customers may have regarding the audio books

Creating an Account 1. In a new window, navigate to: http://www.nclive.org/cgi-bin/nclsm?rsrc=259 2. Choose the “login” link in the upper right 3. Click word “here” to create an account (shown below) 4. Follow the onscreen directions including the activation of your account through your email 5. Return to the classroom upon completion, click the green checkmark
Browsing and Adding a Title Exercise Browse the collection of titles by Entire collection, All fiction, All non-fiction, or by category. Choose a book you’d like to listen to and click the “Add to bookshelf” button. Return to the room and click the green checkmark when you have successfully added a title to your shelf.
7 day checkout explained Checkout limit is for a total of 7 days. If you have an audiobook on hold, when it becomes available, you have 7 days from that point to checkout/download and transfer it to your listening device. In other words, at the time the notification email is sent, the book is placed on your bookshelf automatically, and your lending time (7 days) begins. Example: Email that book is available for checkout is sent to you on Monday. You wait until Friday to checkout/download and transfer the book to your iPod. The book is still “due” on Monday.
Checkout and Download Your Book • Enter your “bookshelf” • Choose “Download Now” • Choose “Click here to get your title” • Listen to a bit of the book, then click the pause button, or stop the download • Return to the room and click the green arrow
