Recorded Books: What You’ll Need • Computer • Internet connection (high-speed is best) • MARINet library card and PIN • Residence in 94920 area code • Free NetLibrary account • Windows Media Player 9 or higher • Speakers or headphones • wma-ready portable player (optional)
Recorded Books: Step-by-Step • Begin at the Library home page (www.thelibrary.info) • Click on eBooks and Audio Books • Click on the Recorded Books link • Enter your MARINet card number and PIN • Click on the eAudiobooks link • Login or create a new account using the links in the upper right corner of the page (Note: you must have a separate NetLibrary account to check out audio books – once you have an account you can also login directly from www.netlibrary.com instead of starting at the library home page) • Find an audio book by searching or browsing • Click on show details Continued…
Recorded Books: Step-by-Step 2 • Click on Download this Audiobook • Click Checkout & Download for Radio or CD Quality, based on your preference (note: radio quality typically won’t play on portable devices) • Save audio book file to your computer (choose a consistent place for all your audio books) • When file download is finished, open Windows Media Player and add the new title to your Media Player library. Play the file to authenticate it with NetLibrary (a login box will appear before play begins). • To download Windows Media Player, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/ • Listen to the file on your computer or copy it to a portable digital player via USB cable.
