  2. Balinese people have very good sense in music. Not only in sustaining their life with culture, religion, and identity, Balinese people also use music as an attraction to tourists and also as an identity to be promoted to the world

  3. Balinese people have very good sense in music. Not only in sustaining their life with culture, religion, and identity, Balinese people also use music as an attraction to tourists and also as an identity to be promoted to the world. Balinese people also has been trained arts, such as dance, playing music, and painting, since they were little. It also has been a necessity for Balinese people because they are strict in maintaining their culture. In the fun with your creation day in field trip, the seventh graders of SekolahPelitaHarapan played the gamelan and some of them did other activities such as, painting, crafting, and batik making.

  4. The gamelan consist of at least 3 different music instruments, which is the gendang, the gamelan, and the gong. I played the gamelan, and who played the gendang is the proffesional person who has been trained from childhood. The gamelan playing is very easy for the first time or the first variation, but in the secondvariation it was very hard and made our hands hurt. The first variation is that we only hit one time on the gamelan, and then we have to stop it with our another hand. It was very easy except we have to do the same thing so many times. The second variation was harder, because we hit two times on the gamelan and each two hits we have to stop the vibration of the gamelan with out other hand. That requires strong muscle and cocentration to do it, because when we did it, it hurted our hands. But it was a fun experience.

  5. One of the people that played the gamelan said that in a real gamelan, it requires at least 21 people to play it. The main materials to make gamelan are wood and brass. It takes 1 year to learn how to play the gamelan properly. It is usually played in parties, and playing gamelan is improtant because it is the part of Bali’s richness, according to that person.
