  2. Communist Party • The Communist Party in the United states of America was formed on September 1, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois. • This happened because of the spilt in the Socialist Party in America • C. E. Ruthenberg is the founder of the Communist Party

  3. communist party • In the 1920s the Communist Party was attacked by the government. • In the 1930s during the Depression the Communist Party recommended  for unemployment insurance, the right to organize, and for Social Security. • The Communist Party helped make up the  Social Security system. • Members of the Communist Party also fought in World War II

  4. communist party • In the late 1940s and 1950s the members of the Communist Party of were locked up because they went against the government. • In the 1960s the Communist Party grew • In the 1970s and 1980s the Communist Party participated in the antiwar and peace movement • In 1972, 1976, 1980 and 1984 the party were candidates for the President and Vice President
