Goals of Campaign • Drive visitors into Welcome Centers by enticing them with stickers • Extend length of stay in the state by engaging with them and providing additional information on places, events and activities do and see in state.
Campaign Overview Road trip through the state of Wyoming this Summer and stop at Welcome Centers to collect your Wyoming Great American Road Trip stickers. • What’s new: • Five new stickers - 2 Tourism, 2 State Parks, 1 Laramie • Tear off Informational Maps • Information Distributors • Reduced barrier to entry
What you Need to Know …. • Materials • Informational Map (tear off) • Stickers • Poster • 1st Sticker inventory Sent Out – Week of 5/7/14 • Promotion Start Date - May 23, 2014 • Promotion End Date - Mid September (or when stickers run out)
What do you do? Information Distributor: • Ensure the correct address has been given to Lesley Rowbal (Wyoming Office of Tourism) • Receive the informational maps and keep in a place that will be easily accessible to you and the traveler • Inform your staff about the promotion and they may also distribute the collection maps. • Provide the information about sticker locations to travelers • Inform Shannon Stanfill if you begin to run low on maps and we will provide more inventory as available
What do you do? Sticker & Information Distributor: • Approved visitor centers (based on hours & days of operation). • Ensure the correct address for sticker distribution has been given to Lesley Rowbal (Wyoming Office of Tourism) • Stickers & collection maps will be sent to ONE location per county. That location is responsible for distributing maps and stickers to approved visitor center • Upon receipt of starting inventory, each approved visitor center needs to verify the starting inventory for each sticker then send their starting inventory #’s to: shannon.stanfill@wyo.gov • Inform your staff about the promotion and they may also distribute the collection maps.
What do you do? Sticker & Information Distributor: • On May 23rd, may start giving travelers stickers! • Encourage one sticker per traveler. • Encourage traveler to move to next location to complete their inventory. • Provide the collection maps to travelers • Communication: send WEEKLY inventory figures for stickers (by sticker type, rounded to nearest 25) • Communication: Running low on Maps?
Beginning Sticker Inventory • The first email may look something like this … Shannon, Casper Chamber received the following stickers to begin the 2014 Road Trip season…. Yellowstone250 Tetons 125 Independence Rock 75 Platte River 75 Moose 75 Sincerely, The cool customer service professionals at the Casper Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center
Encourage Visitor to follow instructions and like our Facebook Page • Guideline: Each visitor has the opportunity to take one sticker per each member of their traveling party. • Encourage them to share their experience with us through comments, posts, and pictureson social media using the hashtags #foreverwest and #roadtripwy Distribution Instructions
Poster and Sticker Distribution to Welcome Centers • WOT will provide initial sticker inventory by May 21, 2014. • Rest of stickers and maps – First part of June • First day of distribution - May 23, 2014
Tracking of Stickers • WOT will provide each visitor center with a tracking document for their stickers. - Excel & Hardcopy • Inventory remaining, rounded to nearest 25, will need to be tracked on a weekly basis • Send inventory numbers on Monday of each week to Shannon.stanfill@wyo.gov • Sticker quantities at approved visitor centers can be reordered and will be filled based on warehouse inventory.
Tracking of Maps • Monthly reporting – last Monday of each month – how many map pads do you have remaining. aps. • In between reporting, let Shannon know if you run low. If we have back stock then we will refill. Shannon.stanfill@wyo.gov
