House Bill 1 • High school assessments will change • OGT will be replaced • ACT End of Course Exams (eoce) • New teacher/principal evaluations using “the measure of academic improvement of individual students over a one‐year period”(value added) as one factor

Compensation Plan • Has to include: • Minimum of 50% student growth • Has to have multiple measures • Compensation is only awarded when/if goals are met • Target at least reading and math, at least 50% growth, and achievement data will likely be based on Performance Index Score

TheEdventure Map methodology involves six components Understanding the Big Picture Drives Success!
Visualization of Complex Business/Organizational Systems • Creates a mental framework that allows all participants to speak about the same issues at the same time with the same words
Data Connections • Within the Map, key pieces of data and information are linked to create learning • This information allows dialogue to occur around facts, not just opinions
Dialogue and Discovery • Learning is a matter of asking the right questions, not simply giving the right answers. • Dialogue questions not only lead the group through the learning process, but also allow the group to create a forum for exploring critical organizational issues with people throughout a community, from the maintenance person to senior leaders.
Learning Peripherals • Card exercises and game pieces introduce additional information into the learning process and increase the interactive nature of the experience. • The learning peripherals also harness one of the most effective ways people learn – by making mistakes.
Group Interaction • Ideally experienced in a group of 6 to 10 people • Optimal group size ensures that enough ideas are brought to the table while allowing everyone to be involved or engaged • Any number of groups (tables) can participate simultaneously
Facilitation • Good facilitation is the key to bringing together all of the components • Facilitator or coach is not necessarily an education expert or leader, but someone who encourages understanding through thought-provoking questions
