Accomplishments: Math Professional Learning • MTL & Literacy Coaching meeting (Jan) • Learning Team seminar on math (Feb) • MMP Action Plans: approx. $200,000 directly to Learning Teams (Mar-June) • UWM Courses (8 courses, approx. 200) • MTL Leadership Institute (Aug 24-25)

Accomplishments: Literacy • Refinement of Comprehensive Literacy Framework and creation of new graphic • Literacy Specialists, Coaches, & staff participated in district scoring sessions for the MPS Writing Assessment • Formulation of a plan to transform MPS into a Writing Intensive District
Accomplishments • Literacy Specialists presentations— conferences, monthly principal seminars, Division of Teaching and Learning staff meetings, DPI conferences, Hot Topics, and International Reading Association • Participation of Teaching & Learning staff in the development of state academic indicators for English/language Arts and Mathematics
Next Steps & Challenges for 2004-05 • Support for all of components of the refined Comprehensive Literacy Framework • Implement the plan for MPS as a Writing Intensive District • Formulate a Reading Intervention Model for the middle and high school levels • Continuetodevelop&implement Classroom Assessments Based on Standards (CABS) • Utilize the Professional Support Portal
