  2. Begin by navigating to the UStream link: http://ustre.am/HSVY • Then enter your personalized case sensitive password:

  3. Chat box • You will arrive to the CPM Symposium live channel. • Enter your case sensitive password one last time.

  4. Make your presence known by typing in the chat box and then click send.

  5. Sign up for a new account with UStream by clicking on “Sign up”

  6. Enter the information accurately so we will be able to identify you in the chat room. • When selecting a username please use your full name i.e. John Smith. • If your name is already taken then please try again with a number on the end i.e. John Smith 1 or John Smith 2, etc.

  7. You are now ready to chat with everyone who is watching the live event with you. • You can also use this chat to share questions and comments with the live conference. Facilitators will be including questions from this chat during the live event.

  10. How you can participate via live stream Please share your thoughts, comments, ideas and questions via live chat. We will be including these during dialogue and Q&A parts of the Symposium. There will be times during the conference where participants are discussing together and identifying key themes emerging from the conference. We encourage the live stream community to participate during these times and we will incorporate discussion taking place on live chat into these sessions as well. Comments made by live stream participants will be collected and used to inform the themes for the work day on the 19th. While this day will not be live streamed, your contributions will be part of the process! Live stream participants will receive follow up communications from the Symposium along with the in-person participants.

CEU Credit Live Stream requirements • If you want CEUs you will need to: • Create a username that includes your first and last name, and begin your first and last name with a capital letter. • for example: SusanSmith. • If this is your user name, your CEU certificate will be made out to Susan Smith. • Log in at the beginning of each session by typing “present”. (A session is a group of 4 speakers per theme, or a concurrent breakout session – not each speaker. Only one of the concurrent sessions during the two hours of concurrent sessions on Sunday will be broadcast live:  Glimpse Into the Future: Strategies for Meeting the Need at 11:15 and Implementing the Global Standards for Midwifery Education in the U.S. at 3:25.) • At 3 different times throughout each session, ask a question or make a comment in the chat window to confirm your participation in the session. • Log out at the end of each session.

  12. 8 Sessions are available for CEUs – a total of 11 contact hours (1.1 CEUs) through MEAC To track your attendance for CEUs, you will need to log in at the beginning and end of each session. We recommend you log in at least 5 minutes beforehand. At the beginning of each session, a facilitator will introduce the session and the speakers. The sessions are as follows: Saturday March 17th 9:15 – 10:15 am: “History Exhibit and video” 10:40 am – 12:25 pm: “State of Midwifery: the Nation and the World” 1:25 – 2:55 pm: “State of Midwifery in the US” 3:25 – 4:55 pm: “Transforming Birth in America” Sunday March 18th 9:00 – 11:00 am: “Health Professionals for a New Century – Global Perspective” 11:15 am – 12:15 pm: “Glimpse Into the Future: Strategies for Meeting the Need” 1:45 – 3:05 pm: “Opportunities for System Transformation” 3:25 – 4:25 pm: “Implementing the Global Standards for Midwifery Education in the U.S.”

  13. Live Stream terms and conditions Live Stream Terms and Conditions: Partial Registration for Symposium Live Streaming is not available. Live Stream participants are responsible for ensuring their own internet connection. Refunds will not be offered for the participant’s inability to attend the conference (not logging into the site), or for a participant’s software incompatibility or technical failure of the participant’s software or internet connection. Any refunds are made at the discretion of the Symposium planning team. In case of a refund, a $40 handling fee will be deducted from the refund. Receiving your CEU certificate: Once your attendance and participation have been verified, your CEU certificate will be sent to you by email. To receive CEUs for each session, you must follow the instructions to log in at the start of the session, and send 3 questions/comments for each session. Make sure your user name clearly identifies you by your first and last name, as you want your name to appear on your CEU certificate. user name: JaneDoe Certificate will be made out to: Jane Doe
