Helpful Tips for the Student Reserve Board (SRB) Process. Tip #1. To be eligible for SRB funding, organizations must attend a mandatory SRB workshop.
E N D
Tip #1 • To be eligible for SRB funding, organizations must attend a mandatory SRB workshop. • There will be 6 workshops in the first semester, which will be held in conjunction with the mandatory meeting for clubs and orgs with SLD’s Charlie Schrier. • August 25th @ 3:00pm in Malone 112 • August 27th @ 5:00pm in Malone 112 • August 29th @ 4:00pm in Malone 112 • September 2nd @ 12:00pm in Seaver 100 • September 3rd @ 6:00pm in The Hill • September 4th @ 12:00pm in Seaver 100 • Collaborate and Listen - great opportunity to meet other clubs. • You MUST attend one to receive funding
Tip #2 • SRB allocations will be processed on a first come, first serve basis (packets will be time stamped!). • Pay close attention to the packet due dates. • Packets are due 9 calendar days prior to the SRB presentation date. • Turn in your completed packet to the office manager in Malone 101.
Tip #3 • To be eligible you must show fundraising efforts from your organization towards the event. • Just want to make sure you are putting in the effort for your event. • All we need to see is that you are trying to raise money! It doesn’t have to be a lot! • Excerpt from SRB Packet:
Tip #4 • To receive funding for any line item, you must have a receipt/invoice that corresponds with it. • Every line item must have a receipt or invoice. • A picture of the price will do!
Tip #5 • SRB will only fund up to 75% of promotional items. • This includes t-shirts or other items you give to participants. • We will only fund a max dollar amount of $7 per shirt. • T-shirts solely for organization members will not be funded (must be available to all participants). • See the ASLMU code for more details about the definition of promotional items (Section K, Item 3a).
Tip #6 • To receive funding on any publicity or promotional item it must have the ASLMU logo visible. • Even if you do not know if you are receiving funding if you plan on asking for it you should put the logo on it. • The logo can be found on ASLMU.org under the SRB section
Tip #7 • SRB will fund the most cost-effective means of transportation for up to 6 members of an organization. • For more details on travel, please refer to the SRB code Section L for specific funding.
Tip #8 • SRB will fund reusable equipment for recurring events (including, but not limited to, sporting philanthropy events) no more frequently than every 2-4 years. • This is the biggest change we’ve made recently! • Organizations are responsible for the storage of reusable equipment. • Proof of lost or stolen items are eligible for funding in the next year, but SRB expects you to maintain the equipment you are given.
Tip #9 • A Program Summary Report is due to the ASLMU Treasurer 7 days after the event. Please see ASLMU.org for this form. • You will not be eligible for the next year if you do not turn in the paperwork on time. • A copy of the receipts goes in the Program Summary Report turned in to ASLMU. • The actual receipts go to the controller’s office for reimbursements. • Your paperwork will also be reviewed by ASLMU Attorney General Stephen Mangelsdorf to ensure accuracy.
Tip #10 • If you receive an allocation from SRB, the funding will be available for pick-up at the Controller’s Office. • All your paperwork will be turned into SLD for CharlieSchrier’s signature. • We have the reimbursement paperwork in Malone.
Other Tips • PLEASE READ THE SRB CODE! • Don’t forget that EACH SRB funded event must be open to all students. • Visit ASLMU.org and check out the “SRB” section for updates, important dates, this PowerPoint presentation, the SRB packet, a completed example SRB application, and the SRB code.
