EnglishEducationin China Currently, English is a compulsory course from Grade 1 in primary school to college . Every high school graduate has had to study English for at least 12 years
The Ministry of Education mandates that English be taught at every college and university as a compulsory subject. This course is officially called CollegeEnglish .
College and university students also are required to study college English as compulsory course for at least 1 year. Only after they pass all the English exams ( e.g: CET )and get enough credits in English course can students obtain their bachelor’s degree
