5. Come Learn Work TOGETHER Berlin - Vilafranca del Penedès - Stockholm Hufelandschule Berlin In Berlin there are 15 schools which have a class of Productive Learning. One of them is Hufeland School. Hufeland School is in the very north/east of Berlin. It’s a “normal” school with a focus on natural sciences and career prospects. Productive Learning is one of the projects and activities at Hufeland School. It exists there since 2005. The students are in Productive Learning for two years. That means we have two 9th forms and two 10th forms. All in all we are 48 students. Our school days are normally on Thursdays and Fridays. That means that we work at our practical placements in different enterprises on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Come Learn Work TOGETHER Berlin - Vilafranca del Penedès - Stockholm Wednesday, 11.5.11 Work experience - The students meet at the places they agreed on the day before and work together at practical placements The teachers visit the students (German and Swedish / Spanish teacher together) Late afternoon: talking about the experience (time will be fixed) Thursday, 12.5.11 10.00 visit the top of the “Reichstag” 11.00 – 13.30 arranged sightseeing tour to special places of interest e.g. Nordic embassies, Mediaspree , East Side Gallery…… 2 pm. Come Learn Work TOGETHER Berlin - Vilafranca del Penedès - Stockholm • MILà I FONTANALS INSTITUTE • MILÀ I FONTANALS INSTITUTE is a public institute of secondary education, in the stages of compulsory school, and postsecondary education offering several specialisations like Art (design, image, music, theater...), Sciences, Technology, Humanities and Socials. Also the centre has studies of professional training in Soccer. • The secondary education is structured in four courses, from 12 until 16 years, legal age to work in Spain. • In the school course 2002-03 the centre started with an new resource for students with difficulties in the last grade of secondary education, called MAP CLASSROOM. This approach is based in Productive Learning methods

Teachers explain some activities and then the students who work together the following days get together and make plans about the next two days at practical placements ( meetings points, clothes…) 15:30pm: Swimmingpool in Complex aquatic center. 18:00 Mayor reception in the city hall Tuesday 25.10.11 Morning: Work experience, the students work together at practical placements 15:30 talking about the experience ( school) 16:00 Vilafranca tour. The catalan group show the city to German and Swedish students. Wednesday 26.10.11 Visit Barcelona: sightseeing tour to special places of interest ( Rambla, Cathedral, Gaudi Park…) 21:00 Castellers exhibition. Human castles activity.

Come Learn Work TOGETHER Berlin - Vilafranca del Penedès - Stockholm Thursday 27.10.11 Morning: Work experience The students work together at practical placements The teachers visit the students (German / Swedish / Spanish teacher together) 15:30 activity Who are you? Each student will describe his/her partner. About 18:00: free time Friday 28.10.11 8:30 Castanyada day. It’s a typical celebration at the end of October where we eat chestnuts and another Catalan’s sweets. If the weather is good we will go to the mountain with all the students and teachers of school and we will do different activities. 11:00 barbecue 13:00 Free time 20:00 Farewell dinner in Cal Figarot.

It is an upper secondary school which means that we all are between 15 – 19 years of age here. Two programs are offered – the Social science program and the Natural science program.
