  6. Source apportionment: example from Oslo • Based on a combination of measurement and chemical analysis of samples. Levoglucosan has been used as a tracer for wood burning • Sample period: January-April 04, October-April 04/05 • The studies are done by NILU, financed by SFT and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration

Mitigation measure: Reduced speed limit • National highway in Oslo with commuter traffic, around 50 000 vehicles/day. • From 80 km/h (2004) to 60 km/h (2005) • Real reduction: from 77 to 67 km/h • Results: • Number of exeedences of PM10 LV reduced by more than 30% • Minor changes in PM2,5 levels
