WIDA Test Results Four components that tested the student’s language acquisition necessary to succeed in school: • Listening-process, understand, interpret and evaluate spoken language in a variety of situations • Speaking-engage in oral communication in a variety of situations for a variety of purposes and audiences • Reading-process, understand, interpret , and evaluate written language, symbols and texts with understanding and fluency • Writing- engage in written communication in a variety of situations for a variety of purposes and audiences

  3. In ESOL class: Hands on learning Develop academic Vocabulary Develop Writing skills Support classroom instruction Cultivate a love of reading

  4. Winter Break At-home Activities • Helps prevent back slide of academic growth • Keeps students engaged in interactive activities • For high school students, please have them working on USA Test Prep on the computer to prepare for the end of course exams. For the newcomers/early stages of English language learners, please continue to work on Duolingo over the break.
