South Savo Vocational College • The operations of two strong educational organisations in South Savo – the South Savo Federation of Municipalities and the Federation of Municipalities of the Central Savo Learning Centre – have been transferred on 1 August 2009 to South Savo Education Ltd, which was established on 1 January 2009. • The two municipal organisations’ duties in education have been transferred to the limited company on 1 August. The new educational institution has been named South Savo Vocational College (Etelä-Savon ammattiopisto • The new organisation employs some 540 people and its turnover is estimated at nearly EUR 40 million. • The college has functional units in Mikkeli, Pieksämäki and Juva.
