South Caring: Likes to know that everyone’s feelings have been heard before acting

  2. Compass Points Activity • What are the strengths of your style? (4 adjectives) • What are the limitations of your style? (4 adjectives) • What style do you find the most difficult to work with? • What do other people need to know about you so that we can work together more effectively?

  3. Planning for Instruction The teacher understands instructional planning and designs instruction based upon knowledge of the discipline, students, the community, and curriculum goals.

  4. Meet in grade level/subject area (15 minutes) • Using chart paper list upcoming instructional topics • Discuss ideas that help you best plan your instruction for these ideas

  5. Communication The teacher uses knowledge of effective written, verbal, nonverbal, and visual communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.

  6. Conferences • Identify tips that help make conferences successful. • Identify what can lead to problems during conferences. • Discuss how to talk to the parents of a struggling student or one performing above grade level.
