STEP ONE ADAPT THE MESSAGE TO THE CONTEMPORARY CULTURE
Make message understandable A. What does Paul mean when he says that he has “become all things to all people?” I Cor. 9:22 • Make the message as understandable for different cultures • Use familiar things to illustrate the truth
Make message understandable B. What approach did Paul take in trying to reach the philosophers? Acts 17:22-25 • Paul shaped his message to his pagan audience by connecting to their culture • He pointed to the natural world with which they are familiar and connected it to the supernatural
STEP TWO FOCUS MESSAGE ON PEOPLE’S NEEDS AND INTERESTS
